Essex Ambassadors London 2012 Games

Are you keen to be involved in the London 2012 games?
Have you got what it takes to become an essex Ambassador?
Essex will receive visitors from all over the UK and the world during the london 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Essex County Council is looking for volunteers to be the face of Essex and give a warm welcombe to everyone visiting our country.
What will the Essex Ambassadors volunteers do?
There will be two key roles for volunteers.
* to provide information and guidance on the games events, transport queries and general tourist information at the main transport hubs across essex, for example, Stanstead and Southend airports, Harwich Port, Colchester, Chelmsford and Shenfield stations.
*to act as stewards at the events leading up to the games such as the essex " Sparks Will Fly" cultural festival, the Olympic torch relay and at the Hadleigh Farm olympic Mountain Bike competitions.

Are you passionate about Essex?
Are you excited about the Olympic and paralympic Games coming to the UK?
Do you live or work in Essex?
Will you be 16 or over on the 1st January 2012?
Do you enjoy talking to people?
Do you have the confedence and patience to deal with people from all walks of life?
Are you able to commit to 6 sessions of 5 hours volunteering between 18th may and 10 September 2012?
Are you willing and able to attend three comulsary training sessions during April, May and June2012?

Whats in it for you?
Volunteering as an Essex Ambassador will be hard work but you should enjoy it and get a lot out of your experience.
*You will learn new skills through the 3 sessions of training you will receive prior to volunteering.
*You will meet lots of new people from all over the Uk and the world.
*You will have something interesting to add to your CV.
*You will be able to keep the uniform you will wear during your volunteering.
*You will be part of the London 2012 Experience!
