Electricity Overhead Cables
Overhead Line refurbishment Project: Tilbury- Lakeside
You are advised of essential works that are taking place in your area to refurbish the overhead electricity transmission line between the National Grid substations at Tilbury and lakeside.
This esential work is being carried out to meet the increasing demand for electricity in London and the South East, and forms part of National Grid,s wider investment programme in the Thames Estuary region.
We will be laying temporary roadways to provide safe access to work areas and, where the power lines cross the roads or public rights of way, scaffolding may be erected overhead. Work will then begin on the main body of the project which is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2010. We will right to you with further update as work progresses.
This work is being carried out by the Electricity Alliance, a partnership between National Grid and Balfour Beaty. Normal working hours will be 7-30 am and 6-30pm, however occasional out-of hours and weekends working may be necessary.
We are sorry for any inconenience these essencial works may cause. Please be assured we will make evey effort to complete the project as quickly and considerately as possible. Throughout the poject we will be keeping local residents updated.
